[edit] Recommended Mod Editors
If you want to become an editor for the recommended mod section, leave a message here. Please don't sign up if you aren't "serious." Thanks.
No longer the place to "sign up." Check the Recommended page (not discussion) for updated information. These messages are left here for "historical" purposes.
I'll do it. Sounds more fun than just adding mods to the wiki! ashakanar
I'm up for it to, I'd like to see a selected group of mods so you don't need to browse through 2000 of them priest66
I'm also interested in this. Heck, the only thing that I'd be doing differently at this point is submitting everything I find. JaekTheBarbarian
- Alright, once we get everything started, I'll make all three of you R-Editors. Please mail me your emails. (Vhaeos@gmail) I'll email you guys once we've really got started. This goes for everyone else, too, if you're interested, leave a comment here, or email me. Just make sure that I get your email. Thanks. Vhaeos
I wouldn't mind helping out, I used to do something similar way back when for Morrowind, when I was the mod over at the Vault Network's Morrowind forums. I actually put something small together for my guild, if you're interested I could mail you a copy so you can see whether or not you like my style. Kal Choedan
If you are still looking for people i'd be interested in this. This thread actually made me start an account here rather than just lurking. Don Prestoni
I would love to help out, if you are still looking. Saint Sword
- Yep, definitely. Please email me when you can.
If you guys are still looking for more help, just let me know -Kraki 10:48, 1 July 2006 (CDT)
- Always, email me please.

[edit] Reviews
Well, I was thinking, with the reviews, we should probably seperate each review by more than just a space. Something like, ===Review by [[User:Liggs|Liggs]]===, or maybe even something that'd kind of sum up most of the review in a few words. Anyway, it was just an idea, to hopefully keep things a bit more organized. -Vhaeos
- Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. ~Galahaut
I just realized something. Reviews should probably include the version that were they reviewed at. Incase of any flaws that may be pointed out in the review, and potentially fixed in future versions. Think it's needed? -Vhaeos
- Hmm. Maybe we could just include the version inside the review if there are flaws/bugs mentioned. Something like..."In version 1.1, such and such doesn't work correctly." But, I do agree that it would be a good idea to include the version somehow. ~Galahaut
[edit] Recomendations
Would it be wise to delete the mods that have been accepted into the Recomended Mods section on the recomendations list. The section is becoming cluttered and hard to edit and navigate. If we don't delete them immediatly could we delete them after 5 days or some amount of time like that? -DarkDwarf
- Yeah, it is. I'll create a page where they can be archived for historical purposes. They can be moved there as soon as they have been recommended. I'll update that page with information and a link, and move all the old suggestions there. ~Galahaut
[edit] New layout.
Is everyone fine with the new layout? I made it by tweaking the code on the main page, so, thanks to whoever coded that. (Garret, I think.) If anyone doesn't like it, we can go back to the old way it was listed. I just figured it'd be good to fit as much as we could on a page.
- Looks fine (and better) to me. ~Galahaut
[edit] All Mods, and reviews indication.
Another discussion thing by me, hm, oh well. I added an all mods thing. I figured I'd be useful, especially now, since we don't have many mods. I know I missed a few, but, yeah. Anyway, I'm not sure that I like the whole "*" next to a mod to indicate that it's reviewed. But, I wanted to indicate it in some way. If anyone has any better ideas of a way to implement this, feel free to post them. Even if it's just a different symbol next to the names.
- Delayed response here, but now that we have some more mods listed, I do think the * is working out fine. Anyway, if we ever decide to change the symbol, it wouldn't be too difficult. ~Galahaut
[edit] Congratulations, everyone
All 44 mods have reviews. Good job, all the recommended mods people. --Miketaba 16:58, 14 August 2006 (CDT)
- Very good, everyone, indeed. This actually grew faster than I thought it would. Let's keep going! Thanks for everyone's combined effort. ~Galahaut
[edit] Seeking New R-Editors
Okay, this is directed mostly at current R-Editors, but it could potentially apply to anyone reading this. A vast majority of the R-Editors have either stopped helping or have never even done anything. I'm not going to remove their R-Editor access, for now, but I do think we need to get some new editors. There are about 15 R-Editors, and maybe 3-5 of them have done anything over the last few weeks. I'm going to attempt to contact the "missing" editors and see what is up, but until then...
If you can think of anyone that may be interested in becoming an editor, and would be serious about doing so, please direct them to this Wiki. Please keep possible new editors to people who would be able to help, and would actually do so.
It would be really helpful to get about 5 more editors who are active and serious about helping out around here, and more than that would be even better. I don't care if they make one contribution a day, as long as they will do something useful.
Thanks. ~Galahaut
[edit] Work on the recommended mods section, or the rest of the site?
Alright, well, I'm curious what everyone thinks. What I'm wondering is, should we put more time into the recommended mod section right now, or should we focus all of our efforts on actually getting the site back up to date? I've already talked with Galahaut about this, and, I think I agree with him. Our mod database is incredibly far behind, so, we should probably focus on getting it a little bit more up to date. Please leave your thoughts. -Vhaeos 07:33, 20 June 2007 (EDT)
- I'll just rehash my thoughts for reference. Well, the entire Wiki is just so outdated right now I think it would be better if everyone was focused on getting it back up to speed. Plus, back then, there weren't as many good mod lists, but now Aelius' list, BallOfFire's list, TOTO, TOQL, ORE, etc. are relatively comprehensive, so the Recommended Mods section isn't as "necessary" right now. I guess we could still revive it later, though. I'd have some different ideas for it, though. Galahaut 07:38, 20 June 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, another good point. Tons of other resources have popped up. Although, I will say that I haven't seen any that seem they'd be as good as the recommended mods section here could be if we put some work into it. But, I agree with you, so, I've posted the message about the section being on hold. If anyone disagrees, feel free to say something. -Vhaeos 07:59, 20 June 2007 (EDT)
- I have an idea. How about making this section the Reviewed Mods section instead of Recommended Mods (pretty much the same thing but yeah...) As you've said there's plenty of good lists out there so why not just make it a section for people looking for people's view on a mod they're about to download or are looking for. Smokindan
- That's an interesting idea. If/when we start working on this section again, I was already planning on overhauling it anyway. Galahaut 09:23, 25 June 2007 (EDT)
