[edit] Mod Suggestions

If you have a mod that you think should be included in the recommended mods section, suggest it here. Please include as much information about the mod as you can, and make sure you include why you think the mod should be here.

If you're going to make a request, please use complete sentences and make the request seem professional. Also, please add your request to the bottom of the list of suggestions. Older suggestions should be at the top.

R-Editors, once a mod has been recommended and/or reviewed, please move the entire discussion tree for that mod to the suggestions archive to keep this page from being too cluttered.

  • Artifacts of Tamriel - An excellent mod that adds many different artifacts to Cyrodil, making dungeon diving more rewarding and adding many hours of replayability to the game. Each artifact has custom textures, and the NPCs can pose a challenge to even the most powerful characters. A definite must-have.
- Ill check this one out make sure its bug free and stuff, ~Smilyman1000~
  • Guild Storage - Very cool mod that adds a safe chest with a few items to most guilds in the game. The chest dosen't respawn making it an elegent solution to storage issues in the game. My favourate mod because of it's simplicity. -Jadrax
    • Included in Guild Item Ownership below.
I'll check it out when I have the time, if someone else doesn't first. ~Galahaut
  • Guild Item Ownership - It gives the storage chests and makes it so you cant steal all the good items from your guild at the beginning of the game. Ashakanar
    • This is a Varient Version of the Guild Storage mod I reccomended above.
I'll check it out when I have the time, if someone else doesn't first. ~Galahaut
It's next on my list. I'll probably get to it tommorow ~DarkDwarf
Reviewed but not added to R-Mods Section for reasons in the review. ~DarkDwarf
This Mod needs to be re-looked over. In Vanilla Oblivion, you can take ALL the items in your guild without being arrested. So it is a plus... Ashakanar
  • Allen's Racial Adjustments - This mod changes the starting attributes and skills of all races. Obviously, this will not be to everyone's taste, but I think most of the changes make good sense and stay true to Elder Scrolls lore. Another major feature of this mod is that it gives each race a fortify magicka multiplier that scales their magicka as they get smarter. For example, Orcs get a magicka of 1 times their intelligence, and Bretons get a magicka of approximately 3.4 times their intelligence. To finish off, CharGen discriptions of the races have been expanded, and a few powers have been tweaked (Khajiit night-eye changed to a toggle, that sort of thing). Through personal use, I have found that this mod seems balanced. Iverion
I'll check it out when I have the time, if someone else doesn't first. ~Galahaut
  • Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Item Mod 2.8 - Tired that nearly all monsters level up with you? Bored that at level 30 all the bandits of the world are god-like ones with daedric equipment? Than this mod is for you. I think that the game has to be challenging but that not every fight has to be an epic one. This mod aims to create a more realistic and enjoyable experience, it will not make the game easier, just more credible.. Magistrate
    • This mod is another one I've been wanting to actually try out for awhile. ~Galahaut
  • Realistic Ragdolls and Force mod - Its a must have

-jackmix69

  • Harvest flora mod by Dejunai - The ‘harvest flora mod’ by Dejunai changes the way that ingredients look in the world of Oblivion, after you harvest them. Flowers will be picked from the plants, leaving just the green bits, fruits will be stripped and herbs look like you just ripped their head off - not to mention mushrooms .. they completely disappear. It does not affect game play in any way, the ingredients still grow back after the same time and the chance that you harvest successfully is also not modified.
I think this mod is great. This is how they should have made the game in first place. I use the lite version (ingredients disappear after you pick them). If you use the version where textures are altered after you harvest the flora you need a very fast PC. I've tested it for many hours (>90 hours) and it works very well. Especially if you harvest a lot of plants it is very easy since you don't need to double check every plant all the time. ~bulletje
I'm rather surprised this mod is not part of the recommended section yet, as it is quite useful for alchemy and general realism. The download link at the above site is broken (at least for now). Here is a good place to download it and here is the official page complete with screenshots.
Okay, now that I'm back...yes, I've already been wanting to check out Harvest Flora (and containers). I do harvest a lot. The only thing that has kept me from trying it already is that I don't think my computer will be able to handle the version I would like to use, but we'll see. ~Galahaut
I haven't, but it's on my list of interesting mods I'd like to try. ~Galahaut
I tried it. Pretty good, a few bugs, but I recommend it fully. ~fasfad
  • Harvest mod - no gameplay effects, just pure esthetics.
Yep, already suggested. I'll get to it eventually (or someone else will). ~Galahaut
Love it. I recommend this mod 100% ~fasfad

Axbanes Hunter Mod: This is a very proffesionally made bug free mod which changes the value of hides and adds a few more "loot" to animals, making hunting worthwhile. With this mod, low level charters can live as hunters giving the world more depth and another way of making money and training skills. At least Italic textIItalic text got bored with the only way of "making a living" being quests and caves. Don't know who to link, mostly because I'm not sure it exists on this site.

  • Imperial Legion Armor Replacement 1.41 - This is a texture replacement mod for the Legion armor by Oddbasket, very detailed but doesn't use resolutions higher than the originals. It is a very complete mod with female version for the player as well. It has an esp, so no archiveinvalidation is needed. It's a snap to install and tryout in just 5 minutes! It's purely eye candy, but now there is reason to run around in legion armor! :)
  • Arkenfell Manor I reviewed this mod, but before it gets added I think another Editor should go over it. It has some glitches, but it is still one of the best house mods I've seen -DarkDwarf
  • Jarrod's Rock Replacement Mod - This mod has been around for a few months but sadly not many sites host or recommend it which is a pity. This mod is very professionally made given that Jarrod is a modeller and texturer by profession. The rock textures are more detailed and nicer than vanilla oblivions and more realistic than Qarl's but not necessarily higher res, so performance is not affected. ~Constin
  • Elegant Vests - This is a really, really good mod by the person who brought you Vermillion and Silverthorn Robes. I tested it myself and the clothing has good details and all, considering the pieces of cloth we see in Divine Elegance. I'm pretty shocked this mod is not added to Oblivion Mod Wiki. Kudos to Kafeid! ~Just some random guy
Well, to be honest, the main Wiki mod database is vastly out of date, missing both old and new mods, so I wouldn't be too shocked. As for the recommended section, it is pretty much dead. Sorry. Thanks for the suggestion, though. ~Galahaut
  • PJ's Spell Compendium - This wonderful mod adds about 50 new spells to the game. The spells are extremely creative and are the kind of spells I think most of us were expecting to come with the game. Some of them are lifted from D&D. Examples include: Bottlerocket, Hand of God, Chill and Cone of Cold, Magic Missile, Rapid Fire, and, my personal favorite, Summon Meteor Atronach (which causes a meteor to fall from the sky and smash the ground, turning into an atronach. Kind of like the infernals in Warcraft III). If you still have any doubts about this mod's extreme coolness, look up Spell Compendium on youtube.
  • Streamline - This mod is fantastic. Beforehand I used to have real problems with the outside areas of Oblivion, and also when playing the game for a long time it would start to lag and slow a bit. This mod generally solves these problems by keeping a cleaner video cache and maintaining a cleaner cell buffer (whatever that means :p ). Whether you know how it works or not doesn't matter though, the important thing is this mod hugely speeds up the game for people who can't afford the uber-machine. ~Mutant
  • Tears of the Fiend - A complex, multi-pathed quest with several companions, highly engaging storyline, branched plot with unexpected twists, a number of different encounters, all brought to life through excellent writing by Simyaz. More than 4000 lines of dialogue, impressive dreams and flashbacks, throwing a bit of light upon the player's character past and destiny. ~Arilita
also played ToaF mod, very pleased with it, nice complex story that is great for RPG lovers, also a very good companion mod as you CAN get two powerful( but now overwellming )friends to help you, but you'll have to work for them!
  • Tims Spells - Contains around 35 new spells designed to streamline and optimize the Oblivion experience, also contains some offensive and summoning spells. Created by Slug
