From Oblivion Mod Wiki

Real Lava is my attempt to find a really good texture for Oblivion lava, once and for all. I hadn't yet found a lava mod that really worked for me, but Seniorfrito's Improved Lava certainly inspired me to Photoshop my own. In my first release I used a blend between Bethesda's and Seniorfrito's that turned out fairly well, but then it occured to me that this wasn't the ideal method: so for my brand new v1.1 texture I've used photos of real lava flows to get as organic a look as possible. I'm quite pleased with the results - see the screenshots for yourself!
v1.2 Update: After long testing I updated the texture to something with a little more intensity and a better color. It's still very similar to the 1.1 texture, but I feel it glows better and looks great. I've included both anyway in the new Zip. See the TESSource link for more screenshots and info!
 From v1.1:
Well, I've finally found a replacement for Seniorfrito's Improved Lava. Improved Lava was a nice improvement over the red soup of the original Oblivion lava, but I still felt like it was missing...something. I couldn't really figure out what, and still can't, but whatever "it" was, this new mod seems to have it. Maybe Improved Lava was "too realistic," but this lava seems to be a good middle ground between Bethesda's lava and realistic lava. Anyway, I would definitely recommend checking out this mod, as well as Improved Lava, and deciding which one you like better. The original lava is desperately in need of replacement.
Review Update - Version 1.2: Even better than 1.1! Sorry, that's the entirety of this review update.
