[edit] The Story

The White Fox
The killing...

Nearly 300 years ago, there lived two of the greatest thieves ever. The man-or-myth of the current day, The Gray Fox, and the mysterious White Fox. Not much is known about the Gray Fox, but even less was known about the White Fox. Until now...

The White Fox was a close friend of the Gray Fox, but he was the better of the two. He was confident enough to wear white when he stole. He never got caught. For years it went on smoothly, every theft turned out good. Until one mission...

The White Fox was contacted to steal a very, very rare sword. The sword was called the Sword of Nightmares. It was said to be able to drive any man to the brink of insanity. The White Fox thought nothing of it, same routine as always. He started off on his horse towards the town of Leyawin. But, as usual, the Captain of the Imperial Guard had guard patrolling every road. Since the White Fox had stolen Captain Maxirolt's royal knight sword. Maxirolt's knight dubbing was something he considered a gift from Akatosh. Too bad it was staged so the White Fox could steal this sword for experimental enchantments. The Captain still hasn't figured it out yet...sad really.

All the White Fox had to do was to go wide around roads and he was fine. Now for the tricky part, climbing the castle walls. Taking out his grappling arrow, he aimed and shot at the roof. After testing the rope to make sure it will hold, the White Fox started to scale the wall. As soon as he reached the top, however, a guard unloaded three arrows in rapid succession at him. Quickly maneuvering along the wall, he ran and jumped to the lower balcony and moved through the door.

As soon as he hid in the shadows, the White Fox waited to leap at his pursuer. As the Archer came through the door, the White Fox leaped at him, knocking him unconscious. After quickly dragging the guard’s body, he took of the guards clothes and put them on over his armor. Casually walking down the stairs, he managed to get past the first six guards, until he came to the post where he took over the shift. "Your shift's over, I'll take it from here" the Fox said. "Very well." replied the guard.

As soon as the other guard was out of sight, he removed the guard outfit and shifted through the shadows to the basement vault.

In there, he moved over to the magically enchanted chest and used the special enchanted lock pick the Gray Fox had made for him. After seven attempts at picking the lock, he finally did it. He opened the chest and looked in at the dark red glow emitting from the inside.

"In the name of Akatosh, what kind of monstrous sword is this?!?!" he thought to himself. Hesitating, he reached in and grabbing the sword. Afterwards, he left his calling card, a handwritten note with his official signature. Too bad it would be the last one seen for 200 years...

As soon as the note was placed, he started towards the stairs. As soon as he reached the door, it slammed open, knocking him back down the stairs as 14 guards and Captain Maxirolt enter the basement. "Argh!" yelled the Fox as he flew backwards. "Stop right there White Fox, your under arrest for thievery, fraud, and a whole list of other crimes!" yelled Maxirolt.

All the guards stood fast ready to leap on the White Fox. "Hold up. This is my fight,” said Maxirolt. As soon as the White Fox stood, Maxirolt leaped down the stairs, attempting to crush the White Fox with his enchanted war hammer. As soon as the White Fox saw him move, he dodged the attack, but just barely. Before long, the sword in his backpack glowed brightly, and its secret enchantment went into effect. The White Fox fell over backwards; the Sword of Nightmares became extremely heavy. After deciding he would have to leave it behind, he unstrapped his pack, threw Maxirolt to the ground, and darted for the stairs. The 14 guards charged down at him. Seeing his only option, he drew his bow and strung an arrow.

With the bows enchanted effect of blasting a person and everything around him, he wiped out the first 6 guards, but 8 remained. Since they were injured, but too close to shoot at, he sheathed his bow and drew his sword. With a couple swings, the 8 guards fell to the ground, dead. Now all he had to do was get Maxirolt. But when he turned around, he was gone.

Quickly running up the stairs and out the door, he drew his grappling arrow once more and scaled onto the wall. He ran along the wall until he was confronted by two guards. "Stop! You’re under arrest for trespassing!" yelled one the Guards. He quickly rolled in between them and continued to the front wall. As soon as he reached the front wall, he leapted down onto a tree branch, then onto the ground. Without hesitation he ran to the rope ladder on the eastern side of the Leyawin wall and climbed up and over the wall. Continuing north, he hoped onto his horse and sped towards the Imperial City Waterfront and the hideout of himself and the Gray Fox.

When he arrived, the Gray Fox asked, “White, what happened to you? Why are you covered in blood?!?!" "The job was a set up! I had no choice but to eliminate the Guards!" "You must repent at the Chapel! You have sinned and Akatosh will not forgive you until you repent!" "No! This is a sin that cannot be forgiven!" yelled the White Fox. "Yes it can! You must go to the Chapel now!" Without saying anything back, the White Fox moved toward the dresser. Dawning a White Hood and White Mask, he left the hideout and disappeared into the shadows. He hasn't been seen since...

Now 200 years later, the armor of the White Fox has come to the hands of a merchant. Seeing this armor, you decide you want to take on the legacy of the White Fox.
