[edit] Description
This is a fairly simple mod. All it does is change all of the skill-up pop-ups, loading screen texts, attribute descriptions, etc. to reflect a more 1st person, roleplaying atmosphere. The reason I put it together is because I had a small flash of insight and I realized that it seems the title of the series "The Elder Scrolls" should be more like a first-person story (writing your own Elder Scroll) instead of having it told to you by some narrator that you never see. Most (if not all) of the quest data already is in 1st person, so I didn't change any of that. This isn't very complex, and it only took me about 6 hours to get it all put together up to this point.
Also, no need to start a new game, just plug it in and off you go!

[edit] Details
Here's a list of what I changed:
- Attribute descriptions (health, magicka, stamina) were changed from a bunch of "you's" and "your's" to "me's" and etc.
- Skill descriptions (acrobatics, athletics, etc.) were changed in much the same way. This one really only affects the pop-ups you get when you reach apprentice, journeyman, expert, master.
- Loading screen captions were changed (where applicable) to reflect the idea that your avatar is thinking to him/herself as s/he is loading, so there are many "I ought to", "I should", etc.
- Main Menu (Table of contents) has been changed to be a little more (or a lot more) like a book or what have you. A "Save Game" is now known as a "Chapter" in your "story".
- My main goal was to get rid of some of the things that were killing the immersion feeling (for all you roleplay junkies out there) Like "new game", etc. That becomes "New Story", and the menu is pretty much narrated. Not with voice, but instead of it being "Create New Game?", it says "Shall I create a new story?" and other things along that line.
[edit] Compatibility info
As far as I can tell from my testing, it's compatible with most other mods. I don't know if there are any other mods that modify strings. Kobu's Stamina Mod and Balor's Blunt-Hafted Mod are 100% compatible.
However, this mod is naturally incompatible with most other mods that change the same text strings as this one, e.g. Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.
[edit] Credits
- LostInGeneral - For the readme and section III ("lig Border Removal")
- Balor - For changing blunt to hafted. ("Blunt-Hafted")
- JMS / Kobu - For the Fatigue-Stamina idea. When I was making this about 2 hours ago I only was aware of JMS' mod, but then looked it up and saw he discontinued and Kobu put his up. So thanks to both of you guys.
- Me - Yeah, yeah. You rule Henry.
- Bethesda - Who else?
